The long-established Hotel Traube has been in the possession and management of the Vergeiner family of wine merchants since 1860. It was formerly the “coffee residence” of Queen Wilhelmine of Holland, a meeting place for famous personalities from near and far and is still one of the finest addresses today.

The indoor swimming pool and lounge rooms on the top floor offer you an enchanting view over the entire city as well as the beautiful mountains of the breathtaking Lienz Dolomites, which are also unique and unforgettable by night. A sauna and an infrared cabin are naturally available.

To be able to remain up to date on holiday, it is important for many guests to have an Internet connection. We offer you the possibility to purchase 30 minutes, four hours or 24 hours. You can use this time at our Internet point or per wireless LAN in the lobby, or with a modem naturally with your own laptop in your room. We also take care of faxing and copying for a small fee.
Would you like to “really” relax? Then this is the place to do so! Our masseuse Claudia offers a comprehensive range of massages: from a classic part massage to a peeling-aroma massage – we take stressed muscles to task! For reservations please ask at the reception.
Railway Station / Collection
Would you like to arrive comfortably by rail, but not have to carry your luggage to the hotel, and not pay for a taxi? We do it for you! We are happy to collect you directly from the railway station, and that FREE OF CHARGE! Simply state your exact time of arrival when booking and we will collect you personally
Gratis Hotel Car Park
Should you nevertheless arrive by car, it will be perfectly looked after in our gratis hotel car park. Our car park may not be under a roof, but it is accessible to our hotel guests per code, of which we will be happy to inform you when you check in.
You will also find here the proper sphere for seminars and diverse events, such as family celebrations and weddings. We offer rooms for up to 120 persons, with cuisine and wine for demanding connoisseurs. Warm-hearted staff and perfect organisation will make your event unforgettable.
In our “La Taverna” à la carte restaurant we serve you marvellous Italian dishes, as well as typical Tyrolean fare, for which we are happy to recommend a good glass of wine from our own hotel winery. When and for how long can you reach us?
Our reception is occupied daily from 7am to 11pm. Should your arrival be delayed for any reason, we ask for a quick telephone call so that we can make your key available. If you have already checked in, we politely request that you take your room key with you – it also opens the entrance door on the main square "Hauptplatz"
Lienz & Surroundings
The central location of the hotel, in the heart of the small city of Lienz with its southern flair, is a very popular place to stay for a holiday in this region. Nearby South Tyrol offers countless possibilities for daily excursions and tours in the Dolomites. As equally worth mentioning is the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and the Puster Valley High Road. But also in neighbouring Carinthia is a great number of interesting excursion destinations, such as the numerous lakes, or Minimundus in Klagenfurt. We will be happy to draw up an individual holiday programme for you and advise you on the spot. The railway station is a five-minute walk from the hotel and every possibility for “shopping” is available to you. Countless cosy cafes invite one to enjoy a good cup of coffee, such as a “Verlängerte” or “kleiner Brauner”, as well as typical Italian espresso or cappuccino. And all of the tempting coffees that are so popular and well known are naturally to be enjoyed with a glass of excellent mountain water (the finest spring water from the region), as is the tradition and custom so long.
