Cross country skiing in East Tyrol
On over 400 kilometers of trails you can enjoy the nature of East Tyrol. East Tyrol is an important center for cross country skiing with trails in the vale but also in the height. After a short walk you can easily reach some trails not far away from Vergeiner's Hotel Traube. Or you go by car to the Dolomitengolf in Lavant and enjoy the panorama of the dolomites with perfect preparated trails.
A heartland for cross country skiing is the charming village of Obertilliach where you can find a world cup compatible biathlon center. Further benefit: The trails are available from mid of november - sometimes also earlier.
Winter hiking in East Tyrol
Snow is sparkling and crunching under our shoes, silence in the middle of nature. The regenerative effect of winter hiking and the magnificent mountain panorama of East Tyrol is an unique experience. Very near from Vergeiner's Hotel Traube you can find some romantic winter hiking tours. Of course you can also hike in side valleys from East Tyrol. A special highlight is the first certified Austrian winter hiking village Kartitsch, where guided winter hikes also take place.

Ice skating in Lienz
The natural ice rink at the lake Tristach is magnificent and absolutely an adventure for ice skaters. Ice skating on this little mountain lake is for free, the ice surface is released depending on the thickness of the ice, just ask our team. By car you arrive at the lake after 15 minutes. Enjoy this beautiful place! Also the ice rink in Lienz is very famous and just a view minutes of walk from Vergeiner's Hotel Traube.
Toboggan
Nothing else is more funny than a toboggan run with the whole family or travel group! Very near from Vergeiner's Hotel Traube you can find lots of opportunities to toboggan. In East Tyrol are more than 30 trails, some of them are also by night available (illuminated). Most of the toboggan runs lead down from a hut, where you should try a wonderful East Tyrolean snack, the famous Schlipfkrapfen, Tyrolean dumplings or a hearty Kaiserschmarrn.
